Île-de-France - The Climate Group's meeting, March 4th, 2010

Major Federated States and Regional Governments and their respective networks gathered on March 4th, 2010 in Paris at the invitation of the Île-de-France and The Climate Group. In the same vein as Copenhagen commitments during the Executive Summit on climate change, they reaffirmed their role in the fight against climate change and stated their courses of actions. At the end of the meeting, regional leaders signed the Paris Ile-de-France Declaration which calls EU to play a leading role in international post-Copenhagen negotiations and reaffirmed their common desire to act in a dynamic redefining of North-South partnerships and the strengthening of the transatlantic dialogue.

This conference laid the groundwork for a shared calendar for the 16th Conference of the Parties to Mexico (29 November to 10 December 2010): conference in Bonn (North Rhine Westphalia - June 2, 2010), Conference of Belem (State of Para - June 2010), the World Summit of Presidents of Regions and Federated States of Governors in Los Angeles (23-24 September 2010) and the Declaration on sustainable development that will close the Shanghai World Exposition (late October).
