The “Global Fund for Cities Development" meets in Rio de Janeiro, parallel to the World Urban Forum

The Metropolis project "Global Fund for Cities Development (GFCD)" will organize a meeting parallel to the World Urban Forum (WUF5) on 25 March at 15h at the SEBRAE (Brazilian Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Support Service) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
The purpose of the event is to present the foundation of the GFCD to Brazilian and Latin American cities, plus the procedure for joining it and possibilities regarding commitments from local authorities in the Fund's creation process.
Another proposal is to identify urban projects the GFCD could provide technical support to and expand the possibilities for more reliable and cost-effective access to the finance market.
