The 2009 Metropolis Board of Directors meeting was held from May 21 to 24, 2009 in Moscow, and focused on the discussion of the “Global Fund for cities Development”.

As part of the event, a workshop on “Megacities” was held, as well as a special session organized by the Moscow Government “Year of Equal Opportunities” concerning the means of making life in metropolises more comfortable for disabled persons.

During their stay in Moscow, a city with world-renowned architecture and performing arts culture, participants had the chance to visit some historical sites such as Red Square, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Seven Sisters and Bolshoy Theatre, among others.
